I had no idea that functional illiteracy is so detrimental to our Ameican way of life and so costly to each of us! Although some people may consider the proposed solution to be unnecessary, the fact that nothing done in the last 100 years has improved the literacy in the U.S., we drastically need to do something that WILL work! I was able to read the home page in NuEnglish with hardly any stumbles over the words, and if I can do it, I believe anyone can.
